Our Dancing Princess!
Kylie danced in her 4th Spring recital with Curtain Call Performance Arts Academy yesterday. She was dancing in two dances for the first time this year, one ballet and one jazz. She did an amazingly good job. Her skills have improved so much this past year. Her confidence was up and she seemed to be loving it.
We were very, very happy that Kylie was awarded the CCPA award as well, only 4 of 222 dancers won this prestigious award. It stands for Commitment, Cooperation, Persistence and Attitude and is given to dancers who have excellent attendance (Kylie hasn't missed a dance practice in 3 years), come prepared to class, have a positive influence on others and quietly improve their abilities. Brett and I knew she met this requirements so we had a gut feeling that she might win but still were very surprised to hear them call her name. Kylie was shocked! She came down from the risers and accepted her award with the hugest smile on her face. Afterwards she said that she heard them say "Kylie" and thought "It can't be me, it can't be me" and then heard "Nabb" and thought "It is me, it is me!!"
We are so proud.
Kylie also auditioned for the Performing Company Dancers last week. We should hear if she makes it or not this week. Fingers crossed for her!
